Uh oh, Autolib stations = more free parking

OK, so some people seemed less interested in the tweet post from yesterday about Siri being a little politically ignorant. But I think a daily tweet from the French community adds a little flavor to the site…

Up today is eu.org and Gandi.net founder Pierre Beyssac, who noticed that the new Autolib stations in Paris are simply being used for temporary parking by regular drivers.

For anyone who is unfamiliar with Autolib, it’s the new Parisian electric car share service that was launched in October. You can read a fabulous NYTimes article of the new service here (which includes a photo of my favorite French Minister on Twitter).

Autolib works great in Lyon, just tried it a few weeks ago. It is not as seemless as Zipcar or Citycarshare were in SF but it is already a great plus!
